BADDHAKONASANA A
The term badha (bound) refers to the clasping of your feet This creates a circuit of energy in your body. Hold your feet firmly but tenderly — don’t grip them like a vice!
Exhale, bring the soles of your feet together and Let your knees relax to the sides. Hold your feet with your hands so that your thumbs are on the soles and your fingers are on the tops of your feet. Open your feet outward like a book. Draw your spine long and lower your chin toward your throat. Stay for five breaths. Inhale and look forward. Go straight into the next pose: Baddha Konasana B.
o If you find this pose difficult, it may help to lift your hips a little by sitting on a yoga block If you can’t reach your feet without rounding your back, then hold your shins instead. You should be aiming for the maximum lift in your spine, so direct most of your attention to achieving this, and don’t worry too much about where your knees are — they will drop lower in time.
